We are off to California to help Alicia the Cows little brother Curt - to either encourage him in his Stunt work or try and find a different career. I have found this handsome young singing cowboy that would love to teach Curt to sing... Maybe even audition for American Idol.
Thank you Pat Smethers for this sweet image...
I made the bandana background with paisleys and flowers, dotted and drew in the lines.Cut into four smaller squares, matted with white, burgundy and crushed curry. Stamped the cactus scene onto vellum, tore the upper and lower sections, tore three more pieces of vellum and layered overtop. Sewed edges. Water coloured the image with Stampin up reinkers, cut out image, tied on the little piece of rope. I used my embossing tool on the back of the image to give it more dimension. I had these little wooden cactus and the silver skull hardware in my stash - perfect for my desert scene.

O.K., this is too much fun. I must join in soon at the Tea Party . What a fun card with the little cowboy, wooden cactus, and super stitching. Wonderful details.

Definitely American Idol material, patricia. I love how you used the vellum behind Mr. Marlboro man. This is just amazing work, Patricia. Sweet image Pat sent you and so perfect for MM's TP.

This is amazing. I love singing cowboys. One of my favorite Barbara Mandrell's songs
I Was Country When Country Wasnt Cool
I remember wearin straight leg Levis
Flannel shirts even when they werent in style
I remember singing with Roy Rogers
At the movies when the west was really wild
And I was listening to the Opry
When all of my friends
Were digging Rock n Roll and Rhythm and Blues
I was country when country wasnt cool
That was me. thanks for the memories.

Love the depth those layers of vellum give to your western scene. This reminds me of the technique of adding color to old black and white photographs. Very artistic!
