Hello everyone! Well... it's Sat. and that means Inspiration Challenge day. This one was not really up my alley, but I did find one of the neat tenugui towels to draw inspiration from.
Not sure how I feel about this one, but here's what I did:
Stamped flower from Eastern Blooms in Regal Rose and trounced Rose Red marker around edges and centers. Cut out, then stamped the backs the same way. Placed flowers in three stages of bloom. The bud is just three individual petals cut out and glued in place, then there is a single bloom with curled petals, and then the double bloom. For the leaves I had nothing stamp wise that resembled eastern leaves, so I stamped the flowers in Wild Wasabi again on both sides, cut the petals to a more pointed shape so they would look a little different than the flowers, and glued them in place. Added Frosted Stickles to the centers of the flowers, used the CB die cut oval and a small circle punch to clip the corners of my stentiment, cut the width of card down about 1/4" so oval would extend over the edge... why I'm not sure, just wanted some interest on this otherwise single layer card, and that's about it. Wanted to layer, wanted to add blue water or something, but I really tried to keep it like the inspiration piece. Not sure I'm loving it, but I tried.
Thanks for looking! I'll be back later to comment and view all the creations!
Edit: I see the link is going to the calendar, not the individual month... this was taken from March

Great card! Love how you used the flower to make the grass. Wonderful job!

My goodness those flowers are beautiful. I don't know which I like best. Maybe the top one, with the inside opening out - it reminds me more of the lilies in the inspiration. But it's so lovely - whoever gets it (by hand, I am guessing) will be a lucky person.

Well I'm loving this. I'll tell ya, the more I see this set, the more I wish I had it. Love how you curled the flowers and your leaves look like leaves. Great inspiration piece.
