I have had this stamp for a long time but wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it until today. This little scene just popped in my head. I have wanted to try faux tearing, so I did. I also wanted my little birdie to look like he was walking on the sand hills away from the ocean. You see, summer is just about over. So he has gathered all his toys and is saying good-bye to summer for now!!.....I hope it looks like he is walking away and that I haven't just cut him in half for no reason! LOL...here is what I did.....
The masking for the sand hills was the hardest. I had to think real hard where to put each mask because I was only using one color for the sand and I wanted the back to get darker with each addition. Before doing the hills, I stamped itty bitty bg for the sand, versa marking and clear eb. Hope that was considered an ink, don't know about the ep! Yikes, I might have done an oopsie here!
Then I brayered each layer with sandal, removing one mask at a time. Added the little clumps of grass here and there. Masked off the water part and sponged with sailboat blue. Took my white gel pen and marked the waters edge.
Stamped my unknown sun, and then put on my clouds with various colors of ink. Wanted it to look like a sunset with clouds. That's why they aren't blue. There's a saying that goes something like....red sky in the morning sailor give warning, red sky at night, sailor's delight! Well, this is the night one! LOL
Cut my birdie to different sizes so it would look like he was walking over the sand hills. Popped up the whole one. Sponged all the edges and put my scene on a white card that I sponged sunset orange and doodled edges. Added the sentiment that I did on the computer.
Hope this looks somewhat dimensional to you!.....TFL :0)
