I made this for a Monday challenge with a small group of SCS friends. We were to make a card with kraft and pastels. First off I was thinking pastel colors as in card stock, last night I found out pastels means chalks (oh brother!)
This is my story!
1. OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! What a nightmare this was for me! This is the first time I went from Plan B all the way through the alphabet!
2. This was the point that I was in control. I took this little kraft notebook I had and masked and stamped the flowers.
3. This is where I was sorta still in control. I chalked the flowers which was sorta okay, I chalked the flower centers which was sorta okay. I tried to chalk the background...used a little red, covered up that big mistake with orange, covered that up with tan, covered that up with brown, covered that up with black. Not okay!
4. This is where I was totally out of control! I had to cover up the entire mess so thought maybe my glimmer mist would do something. I tried to daub it on, tried several different colors (copper, then coffee shop, then tiger lily) Yikes, made it way worse. Then I began to think, this thing is going in the trash so who cares! I sprayed the entire thing with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist which was sorta sparkley but the flower petal color was completely gone.
5. Then I took my water pen, that sorta brought out the color until it dried. Then I pulled out a yellow marker, that ruined my yellow marker. I had only one more thing to try. Yellow acrylic paint! At least they look like flowers now and I can live with it!
6. Note to fellow group members. Don't even go there! There is chalk on this thing!

Well Cindy, as John Denver says, *Some days are diamonds, some days are stones.* So this is, according to you, a STONE! Funny thing is, if you hadn't told us your sad story, I would have thought this lovely little notebook a diamond for sure! TFS!

Gorgeous mini notebook! What a recovery you made. Your stories are always the best, but this one was so funny that we should have a "caution, read at your own risk as you may end up on the floor from laughing" .
Thanks for sharing! Really.

You have created a whole new realm of layering - layers of color instead of layers of paper. Even if it is plan Z, you have achieved another terrific final look - and continue to keep us in suspense for your new stories...
