The challenge is to think of a favorite song youÂ’ve had over the years and create a card from the title or lyrics and list the inspiration in the card description.
I remember ‘How Much is that Doggie in the Window’ by Patti Page from my childhood days and here are the opening lyrics:
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie's for sale

My card base with the window is a die cut so all I had to do was use my precut mask to cover the window and stamp the CHF Sonlight Impressions bricks, then using post it notes I cover the bricks and stamped on SU Weathered and added the grey with a brayer. The inside panel is stamped with the Hero Arts fabric texture for the curtain look on top and the railing is freehand. Doggie is stamped and I colored in the collar with gel pens. Stamped and cut out the flowers and sign and tacky glued them down. I did two of these cards; one IÂ’ll send off to Keiki for the kids and the other goes in the soldierÂ’s box so they can send it back home to their little doggie lovers.

Oh I loved this song when I was a little girl!! My dad had it on an old 78 record. (Ok... really dating myself here!) This is an absolutely darling card.

Oh, Rox! What a great card! When I first read your challenge I wanted to do this song! When my oldest DD was a baby I used to sing this to her---she requested it every night and would beg to buy a doggie so he wouldn't be lonely in the window. Luckily I looked at your samples first, which is a miracle in and of itself as I don't usually look at others until after I'm done---don't want to be too influenced KWIM? So many memories---this was a great challenge.
