Masculine cards are just not my favorite thing to make...really wanted to use flowers but I needed a couple male birthday cards and so.... I always find Masculine cards difficult...they don't like too much ribbon, don't like bright colors, and DON'T put too much distressing on it or you will be asking if you ran over it with the van! Oh yes, one more...guys just do not get cracked glass...why would you want to crack it? How do I know this? My husband and his many brothers have given quite an experience. Also have 4 boys, so this is all good to know
I used yesterday's sketch challenge as the basis for this card. I wanted to show how you could use a design for a larger stamp and separate the main image design into segments to use your small stamps. The backgrounds are hard to see int he pic...cheesecloth of the small thyme mat, by definition of the bordering blue mat, and antique cracking on the card front itself. Colors were chosen as a personal challenge to try using thyme..my first time and bordering blue which usually gets left in my cardstock file.

Gorgeous!! Those colors are perfect together. This is a perfect masculine card (I agree with you on all those points about what a masculine card should and shouldn't have - it really doesn't make it hard!).
