Yesterday I painted this scene on a Strathmore Watercolor card that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I'm going to cut it, layer it, and embellish it. I don't like it plain. I was inspired by Kittie's beautiful fowl cards in her gallery. I did some masking to put this together. I started out with a postage stamp and omitted one of the frame lines and repositioned the other line to make the scene work for the frame of the card. I then masked and stamped the Rooster family in. I used the Harlequin stamp from Looks Like Spring for the background in the hen's frame and freehanded the stripes and checkerboard in the Rooster and Chick frames. I freehanded the mustard frame around the entire picture. I stamped a tiny bit of floral on the left side the picture and watercolored everything in.
