I stamped this image the day after we got our puppy. I was so excited and in love with that little guy. Never thought he'd be snapped up so fast. So here it sat on my desk ready to be put on a card, but I didn't want to look at it. I've decided to remember our short time with a smile, and let go of some of the resentment towards the shelter that didn't check him for any ailments. For you, little Rusty.. I'm quite certain you're in doggy heaven, if there exists such a place. I'll miss the years that I thought you'd be laying at my feet and playing with my boys. And you'll always have a special place in my heart, little Rusty dog.
(sorry for the sad tale.. but it helps me to move on)
To make the smackin acetate w/ shelf liner, I used my spots since I didn't have markers. The ribbon was part of my mother's day gift that my boys picked out at Big Lots.

Wonderfully cute card!! I didn't even know Rusty, but after following the story in the IRAK thread, I miss him too. Best wishes and condolences to your family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Rusty. It doesn't matter that you had him for only a short time, it still hurts! This is a wonderful tribute to him. I'm sure he's in doggy Heaven.

Barb.. just revisited this card and read your story about Rusty. Tears in my eyes, sweetie... There is absolutely a doggy heaven and you'll see that sweet little puppy again.
Barbra, Cutest card. I'm sorry to hear about your doggy. But you are correct. I can't quote the exact bible verse but it went something like this. ".. and the lion will lay down with the lamb." That was Pastor's answer to a childs question about dogs in Heaven. He said what it means is that the animals will all "get along" in Heaven. I hope it helps. My sister-in-law had to put their pet down recently. I am making them a scrapbook about their dog Snowy. I hope it help the healing. It is helping me. Good Luck, Judith
