Well, thank you ladies for a trio of wonderful challenges this week. Karen, when I saw the colors you chose, I couldn't help but think of poppies! Linda, thank you for hosting the second week of our new Wednesday challenge, Watercolor. This is something I want to explore. Dina's tutorial was most helpful. And Lisa, over on the Ways to Use it, called for working with a stamp you had never inked before! Both the stamps of my card are uninked till this morn.
I have to say I was intrigued by the first Watercolor Wednesday that Kia launched last week. The use of the acetate 'paint brush' looked so interesting. And so I began with an acetate palate in the three closest shades of the Color Challenge 795. I stamped the poppies over the 'laid down color'. Used two tiny brushes to wick some color into other areas, leaving the blocks of original color as well. I LOVE the free spirit way this came about!
Not only do I relate to the quote from Ivan Turgenev, but I love the vertical layout.
If we
wait
for the
moment
when
absolutely
everything
is ready,
we shall
never
begin.
Thanks for stopping by today, what are you beginning today? I have seriously begun my
watercolor practice...I like it, Linda!
