Cathy is our challenge hostess for the WTUI this Thursday. Her challenge was a great opportunity for me to actually use an offcut of patterned paper - normally I end up binning them. But then, I made an envelope to match because it was an off-size card, and ended up with another offcut of DP from that, sigh... You can find her challenge HERE.
Scrap of paper on table crimped and edge torn. There was a bit of card in my background box with blue, used for a mop-up job: I added Broken China, Victorian Velvet and Stormy Sky DOX. Stencilled a Carabelle stencil over the right side with gesso, and sprinkled some violet Brusho over it. Added the crimped piece. TH Wildflower Stems 1 & 2 cut from assorted card (kraft, purple, watercolour paper) DOX on the flower, SN clear glitter on the purple one. Raffia tied around and a bow added. Matted onto kraft with distressed edges, then a white base. 7âe x 5.5âe . Used another piece of similar DP to make a custom envelope.

Sabrina, this is sooo gorgeous. You are an expert at making cards like this, and it is something I cannot do at all so I truly admire your skill and expertise in this. This flower is gorgeous and really pops so beautifully on this wonderfully textured card. ~Karen.

I can't blame you for wanting to save this Beautiful piece of patterned paper, Sabrina because I would have done the same. So nice to see the crimping tool came out to play. I love the splattered look of your brusho over the gesso design. Very pretty flower with sparkles....cool collage card~

My dear friend would call this card A Framer - worthy of being framed! Your collage card looks like something one would find in a gallery. It’s a gorgeous blend of artsy/funky with some really nice design elements tossed in to make it shine. Somehow you were able to make that diecut flower the star of the show, despite all the color and pattern in the background...I’m shaking my head in amazement at your talent!
And that torn, rumpled edge of kraft creates the perfect frame. As I said, amazing! Popping into my favs for inspiration! TFS
