Sorry Iâm late to the Tea Party today. We are lifting up Carleneâs sister, Heidi with cards inspired by happy songs. I browsed my Amazon Music playlist for happy songs and realized that most of my favorite songs arenât âhappyâ songs even though they make me happy. My first thought was âIâd Like to Teach the World to Singâ and then maybe âYou Light Up My Lifeâ but I landed on one of my favorite songs and believe it or not I donât think this is the first card that Iâve made based on it. My song is âBirdhouse in Your Soulâ by They Might Be Giants. Youâve probably never heard it but itâs very upbeat and itâs one of my favorite songs ever. So much so that I have the nightlight that is inspired by it âBlue Canary in the Outlet by the Light Switchâ. Anyway, I have this bluebird stamp that I love but hadnât used yet. So I stamped, cut, and colored him and what do you know? Jeanneâs colors today were PERFECT for it! I typed out all the lyrics to the song and printed it out on white paper and die cut it to lay behind the bird. Then I took some light yellow paper and embossed it with my music EF. I donât know if any of you visited Heidiâs blog, but her cards are beautiful. I noticed that she sponges the edges of her panels and uses a lot of ribbon, so I did the same for her card. The ribbon is white but colored with a Copic markerâBG01 which I thought was closest to Pool Party.
The card felt like it needed one more thing in the end, so I added some iridescent sequins. Canât wait to see everyone elseâs happy cards!
