What another great week on SCS for the daily challenges, wouldn't you say? I got thrown a Creative Swap Challenge from Carla (Covington Crafter). We decided the Sketch Challenge would really challenge our eclectic tastes. And so it was into the studio to think up some bits and pieces I would send for inspiration. In return, a couple of days later, I received a cool bg and die cut possibilities.
My card was so much fun to think up! I managed to work it into not only the Sketch Challenge, but the Free4All (Simple Lines), and the Inspiration Challenge (At Home). Here's what I did...
Carla's background was stamped mulitple times with repeating friend words and clouds. It is also shimmery. I decided to cut it apart (gasp) for Jeanne's Simple Lines Challenge on the F4A. Kind of like a skywriter would transverse the sky. Once the bg was cut into my pieces, I ran them through the Darice 'Cloud' ef. It adds the perfect dimension. Carla included the clouds and hot air balloon diecut. I sponged, sprayed and distressed the clouds. And for the Inspiration Challenge, I thought the hearts would be perfect for the hot air balloon...they have a sort of lightness of spirit. I made a banner from a label maker. And stapled it onto the plane and one of the clouds.
This card is going to celebrate the upcoming marriage of a dear brother. At long last...the ONE for him has arrived. And they just might be on cloud 9...oh, should've done a {9} on the big cloud...smile!
Thank you Carla for inspiring me. And to everyone I so appreciate your creative energy. Have a wonderful weekend...snowed in (more studio time) or plucking weeds in the garden...or pouring out your talents to others.

What a marvelous and wonderful card to honor your brother's upcoming marriage. Love the cut apart background, the heart covered hot air balloon, and the airplane with the banner message. Such fun!

This is FABULOUS! You and Carla certainly created some wonderful backgrounds and elements to work with on your challenge. Love what you did with the cuts...gasping not necessary! Love the cloud embossing on the beautiful sponged and shimmered word background! All your added goodies result in such an impressive card! The "nine" would have been a GREAT addition but only because it suited this particular occasion, but it is still great!
