I loved the glow behind the winter scene in this image here here, and one of my favorite styles of cards to make is a scene with masking, and sponging and splattering. Penny Black has so many stamps that work well for this and the work and tutorials of Heather Telford and Michelle Jordain have been another great source of inspiration for me. I thank them for sharing their talents!
Going section by section I masked the snow drifts, sponged the shadows, the lamp glow, and the sky and then stamped my silhouette stamps and sentiment. Then I splattered with white acrylic paint and sponged around the edges for more definition. So fun, more of these scenes to come!

Oh my goodness Maura, what a stunning scene you have created. You are so talanted!!! Your snow banks are amazing and I love the proportions of everything. Amazing!!! I wish I had seen this gem before doing my Favourites!

Holy smokes! I don't think it gets ANY prettier than this! You did a phenomenal job with not just that lovely sky but the placement of your silhouettes makes it all the more perfect! Thank you so much for sharing!
