Well, it took me awhile to decide to just be myself, but I'm here! Robin, it's a marvelous Free 4 All challenge. I had a very long walk through my gallery seeing how far I've come in my paper crafting. It was quite a trip actually...4 I'd stop and read comments and be throughly blessed that something I had created had touched a heart and nerve...it was also a record of sort of life events. Priceless.
So here I am...with a beautiful heart touching sentiment...
The Soul would have no rainbows if the eyes had no tears.
I know I was given the gift of encouragement, I can't help myself. So I present to the gallery, my soul searching woman. And myself. My style is collage. But over the years, I've edited and learned to weigh each element (a CAS trait I greatly admire). There is no fluff on this card. Each part is necessary.
This card is also for the CC710 A Pink Pear Plays Calypso. Jeanne, a lovely color pairing.
I stamped this Laurel Burch beauty over and over on the different colored Basic Grey papers. I instantly knew the birds would be embossed and fussy cut as a her headdress. Her lips were cut from a corner of the 'What's Up' coral that had a bit of reddish script and actually the word somebody is legible on the upper lip. Upside down, but it is there...just a serendipity. I used Glossy Accents on the eyes and epoxy tears down the cheek. The sentiment is embossed. I fussy cut her hair and tussled the stands of hair for movement. The vintage German scrap was a bit to metallic pink, so I used VeraMark and Tim Holtz distressed 'Tattered Rose' to tone it down.
I am thankful for both our hostesses this week for these thought provoking challenges...it got me using my gray matter and that's as Martha would say 'is a good thing'!
Your comments are valued. I appreciate your time.

How in the world did I miss this little masterpiece?? I love it, it's going into my favorites too, and I love that sentiment about tears. We are talking about Running faucets when it comes to things that touch my heart. God just created me with a string that connects from my heart to my tear ducts. When something pulls on my heart, tears just flow from my eyes. I love this beautiful sentiment that addresses the reason for tears.
