This week it's all about alcohol. I used alcohol markers, isoproly alcohol and grape alcohol (yes, you would be correct if you guessed I had a glass of wine). Now about my card....
These little chickies started out life as a single Mo Manning digi image. One girl has been flipped and reduced in size.
The scene was printed onto smooth white cardstock and coloured with Copics. I then took a dead Copic and dunked the brush nib end into Isoproply Alcohol, then with a very firm hand I removed some colour from the mushroom hats. I kept dipping into the alcohol and scrubbing on the hats until I had the desired effect.
To add a vintage feel I gently wiped a walnut stain distress ink foam blending tool over the entire panel (just using the left over ink that was on the foam). I then smacked the foam tool into the ink to pick up some colour so I could add more ink around the edges.
After reinking the foam, I always make sure the first few swipes are made with a gentle action. It's better to build up the colour, than try to tone it down. I also find it's more effective to randomly have dark areas and light areas and try and NOT be too uniform.
I finished with a doodled border, again keeping it random by making squiggles and criss crosses in various places. It is much harder to keep things uniform and even and there is nothing worse than mucking up a card right at the very end. Having said that, if I wasn't happy with this border, it would simply be a matter of cutting them off and making a smaller card.
Thank you for looking and I hope you have a chance to get inky and join in.

Love your little fancy fairies!!!! They are A-dor-able! The mushroom chapeau's are quite stylish. And you've used the vintage look Perfectly with all of it. Do you realize that your quirky borders always REALLY take your creations to a whole other level? They are Fantastic! (I think I know where the grape alcohol comes into play......I see brownish ink brows near the top of the card, a nose smudge in the center, and green lips on the bottom of the card. I know, I know...you were just getting a closer look to make sure it was all perfect. It is, never fear! Love you!!! Please don't take this wrong. I'm sorry! Sometimes I just can't control myself...especially when something is so obvious.)

Another incredible card. Until now I didn't know your secret, but the cats out of the bag now...grape wine makes these whimsical, cheerful scenes you share with us. No wonder they are sure to bring a smile.
