Hello, sweet friends! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far and enjoying warmer weather. Well, here's another experiment for me. It's my second watercolor card I'm posting, and I used the newest remixed digital image by Marcella Hawley. It's a lovely set that includes a beautiful wreath of peonies, but I chose to use the single "accent" image and enlarged it in Microsoft Word. I printed it on watercolor paper, gently rubbed the entire image with a Magic Rub eraser, and then I used Distress Inks with an aqua brush to color. I kept remembering Sallie's words of "keep some white in the image," and I tried - wink! I accidentally used one of my aqua brushes that I has Copic Blending Solution in it - oops! SO I did struggle a bit with some of the color-wash around the lower part of the card. But I added some sequins, matted it, and it was done. And so you can watercolor with digital images without doing anything other than printing them in Microsoft Word. However, I suggest you try on your own printer. I have an HP Photosmart 7510 inkjet printer, and it was fine.
So, sweet friends, thanks for taking a closer look at my card, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and a Happy Mother's Day (I will remember the many joys my mom had each spring planting new flowers - miss her lots!).
Stop by my blog for more details about my water-coloring experience with this digital image.

Cheryl, you must think I've been in a cave to miss this BEAUTY in the gallery!!! Your watercoloring is SO beautifully done...and, indeed, you did "save those whites". : ) Thanks for the nod. Thanks also for the hint of using an eraser on the digi before watercoloring. One of the bugaboos I've had with digis(and, as a result, shy away from them)....the computer ink doesn't seem to be stable and ends up bleeding into the applied color. You are a generous gal with a sharing heart. Hugs to you, mf

Cheryl, you're just so talented, your second watercoloring looks you've been doing it for years. I can't add any more superlatives than others have about what a stunning rendering this is, my friend!! Keep at it and enjoy!

This is so pretty, I don't think I commented here yet. I really like the white space you left in the coloring, it adds such a nice highlight. Thanks for all your lovely comments!
