I bought this stamp at a friend's sale the other day and decided that making a card with it was just the therapy I needed today. I love the reminder of this verse that EVERY day is a day that the Lord has made and I need to rejoice in it. This day-where my mom is losing ground rapidly as she nears the end of her cancer journey-where my adult son starts to see a counselor to deal with his depression-THIS day....I choose to rejoice....I choose to do normal things ...I choose to focus on the goodness and mercy of God.
This is my sample card using Cathy's great sketch. It seriously looks good no matter what way you flip it. I almost always print out the sketches so I can physically turn them to see how things look in different orientations. For this one, I've rotated to the left once. I decided to try watercoloring with Gelatos for vibrant color. I stamped and then embossed my image in black ep on watercolor paper. I wet a paintbrush and grabbed color from the end of each Gelato color to paint my image. I used yellow and orange on the flowers and green on the bottom part. I used an Olive marker scribbled on acrylic block to add some darker green to the foliage as I only have one color of green Gelato. I also used marker for my lady bug. I used a clear star jelly roll pen to add some highlights. I then cut my piece down to a 3x4" size using paper snips to cut out of the box elements. I layered this on a piece of black cs to show off these. I kept the bg simple with one color but set off "panels" by partially embossing with the fan ef then scoring horizontal lines. I accented with a button in the orangish flower center color and black twine.

Your card is just lovely. The embossing makes a great panel in the sketch. Love the scripture too! That is a good one to remember when we are having a bad day!
