I'll admit right off the top that I added green...just couldn't see apple blossoms with turquoise leaves, and I imagine those that I send my cards to, wouldn't either. : ) The brown of the branch was made by mixing that "cheater" green and the red reinkers. Again, aqua brush and reinkers to color the image.

As a child I owned a Golden Guide bird book and on the cover was (is) a pair of American Robins sitting in an apple tree that is in flower. Ever since then that has been the image of spring that is in my mind. Your beautiful apple blossoms brought that memory to the forefront for me! Your water coloured blossoms perfectly capture the shade of pink in the flowers and the hint of red in the newly opened leaves. Gorgeous Sallie! ... and BTW I still have that book!

I honestly don't think that there is cheating. You have all the colors used in your beautiful painting, right? You also focused on today's colors and not that, um... "Cheater color". It's all good. Your coloring is always spot-on perfection, Sallie, every single time! Love this one~

Sallie, this is phenomenal! What gorgeous contrast you always achieve with watercoloring! I think green is a given with florals and you followed the CC perfectly! I do hope you frame some of these beautiful works of art!

Sallie, I'm wishing I could spend more time with you, so you could teach me how you do this! Or maybe it could rub off on me, just a little!
