The CAS 308 challenge is to make a card based on our New Year's resolutions. Like a lot of you, I am going to try very hard to use up those things I have - backgrounds I've created, images I've colored, cards half-made and abandoned. I'm also adding this to the F4A253 challenge "A CASE of Admiration". This card was made to honor Peggy (jasonw1). She has an absolutely stunning gallery, and her comments are always uplifting. I chose this card for my inspiration:
I Actually began this card front several weeks ago while thinking about an upcoming wedding I need a card for, I got so far as die cutting the shimmer paper and gluing the two largest pieces together with spray adhesive. The piece in the middle was just hanging around waiting for me to decide what I was going to do with it. Today, I cut two additional middle pieces from heavy cardstock. One of the pieces of cs was sandwiched between layers of Stick It adhesive, a fairly new product to the market, which was specifically designed for adhering intricate die cuts. It is very thin (but strong!) and has a thin liner that die cuts easily. It's perfect for layering dies and adhering them to the card. I learned of it from Jennifer McGuire's blog. I peeled back the liner on one side and adhered the piece to it's twin, then peeled back the top liner and adhered the shimmer piece on top. I hope that makes sense! I wasn't smart enough to put Stick It on the bottom piece before I cut it, so it's attached to the layer behind it with Matte Medium.
I made the flower so long ago I really don't have a clue how I colored the paper. Sorry! I used the Tattered Floral Garland decorative strip to die cut the layers, formed them with my stylus and glued them together. There is bright yellow Stickles in the center. I attached it with Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue.
Whew! I feel like I wrote a book!
As always, thanks for looking!
