Mary is our Color Challenge hostess this week, and she has chosen a rich holiday-themed set of colors, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Early Espresso, Whisper White as the neutral, and with the dessert option of a tree on your card.
A touch of serendipity, the CAS challenge for this week is to have a tree on your card!
Some thanks here, first to Brenda (tessaduck) for introducing me to this wonderful tree set, perfect for any season. Brenda, your cards are so inspiring!
Next to Barbara Anders/Paper Pursuits for her on how to make a diagonal striped background with the MFT Plaid Background Builder stamp set.
I made the base of this card once, but the tree image, oh, 7 or 8 times! I made a variety of mistakes, most notable among them is that I discovered the hard way that the Wink of Stella brush dissolves Prismacolor pencil colors and water-based ink, resulting in a runny mess on my first attempt with it. I also learned the hard way that the snowman should be stamped first and masked, for ideal placement. And then of course there were the badly positioned ornaments, the poorly stamped ornaments, and the crooked sentiment! The eighth time is the charm! ;-)
Thanks for looking, and please come play along with us this week!

Barb your patience paid off ten fold...this is so cute. Wow did you do a great job getting those ornaments in the right spots. I thought they were already part of the tree stamp. Your horizontal band is the perfect finishing touch. Right into my favs.
