When your mojo has faded because of the extreme heat, the SCS challenges always save the day...this card almost made itself. With DH still out of work we are trying not to use the air conditioning. Since it is 100 in Southern Calif. today, my creativity has deserted me. I started with the challenge colors which led me to use copics, prisma pencils and distress inks. By combining all three I had a good approximation of all the challenge colors. Then I turned to the SC which called for a rectangle main image stamp. Like a moth drawn to a flame, these very complex stamps seem to attract me. By the time I am a third of the way through coloring it I am asking myself the same 2 questions..."what was I thinking?" and "are you crazy?" Finally, the WT challenge to use marble, stone etc. materials used in monuments reminded me that I have a 3 step marble cube that I have never used. The pink and rust challenge colors reminded me of the peach colored marble in my parents bathroom when I was a kid (very progressive colors for the early 1960's). I had to stamp the cube 3 times veryically and 3 times horizontally to get a large enough piece of paper for the bkg. Since this is a 3 step stamp, that is 3 x 6, or 18 repititions to get the marble bkg. This card should only be made when you have an abundance of patience and time. Considering that I have neither it is a good thing that I am happy with the results. Otherwise I might have pitched a fit to rival any 2 year old. TFL, Francie
