A big congrats to Katie, the newest Queen for the Day (QFTD220)! She has a wonderful gallery & I was so pleased to be asked by Trish to be a Guest Designer for her crowning! There are a lot of cards I wanted to case, but THIS one really stuck in my head. I guess IÂ’m just crazy for colorÂ…especially rainbows of color. ThatÂ’s about the only thing my card has in common with KatieÂ’s fun card. Not really sure how it went from cute little chicks to tall skyscrapers, but there you go. After I uploaded, I saw the Free for All challenge, so I'm adding it to that...doesn't get much brighter than this!
For my card, I stamped my newly acquired Christmas scene twice and colored the buildings on both but only the sky/moon on one. I cut off the lower row w/ the Jingle Bell greeting in favor of a larger one underneath. I die cut a square window on the black layer, and a slightly larger window on the white layer. The extra row of buildings was fussy cut and popped up on top of the window and slightly down.
After stamping the greeting, I added a single row of a die cut border and attached a rainbow strip behind it. This was a tad challenging since itÂ’s a 3 row die & I also made the row shorter than the actual die (for more info on this, please see my blog post).
Congrats again, Katie! Thanks so much for looking! Closeups, info & the colors of Copics are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Ohmygosh....Julie, this looks a-m-a-z-i-n-g! It reminds me of the Northern Lights....perfect for Santa's Christmas ride! I love all of the colors and details...how you managed to still have clean white space with all of the color there takes quite a talent, and you have it in abundance! Thank you so much for honoring me by CASEing one of my cards....I feel quite special, indeed!
