This is my 2nd mixed media card for this weeks CC474. Karen chose very vanilla, pink pirouette and pistachio pudding. Dessert this week is no stamping.
When Karen sent us the colors and dessert, I knew I was going to do some sort of mixed media stenciling. Something way out of my comfort zone. Once I got started I played around with several different stencils and ended up making 2 cards for the challenge.
On this card, I started with a Heidi Swapp bird stencil and pistachio pudding and spun sugar inks.
I mixed some gloss gel medium with spun sugar distress paint and Martha Stewart ballet slipper acrylic paint to get the pink pirouette color. I wanted to add some texture. Used a flower stencil from Dylusions and a metal butterfly stencil.
I die cut a butterfly my birthday word and added some pearls to complete my card.
Thanks for a great challenge Karen.
Hope you can play along this week and next. We are having a contest looking for 4 guest designers and a guest hostess. See all the details here.
