Tickle time again and what a fun tickle challenge we have! Mary (redi2stamp) our tickle hostess this month, wrote a wonderful poem for us. Thank you Mary, I love your poem!
Our cards are to feature the flower for our birth month and an optional associated fairy and Sabrina (cook22) gave us a link to look up the flowers.
You should know that I LOVE flowers. I have them in my garden, some select silk ones in my home because dumb kitty eats the real ones and more flower stamps then any one person should own. I clicked the link Sabrina provided and scrolled down to my birth month of October and saw the word MARIGOLD. Really?? ThatÂ’s my birth flower? Of all the flowers out there I would honestly have to say that Marigolds just happen to be one of my least favorite flowers. Yes, itÂ’s colorful flower, hardy and resistant BUT, itÂ’s top heavy, has so many petals crammed into its blossom that it almost doesnÂ’t look like a blossom and I have always thought it has an odor rather than a fragrance. And, I DONÂ’T HAVE A MARIGOLD STAMP!! UghÂ…
Well, if you’re a New Englander, as I am, there is one little reference book published yearly that is chock full of all sorts of wonderful information and definitely a "go to" guide. I decided to confer with it before accepting that the Marigold is my birth month flower. Here’s what my beloved “Old Farmer’s Almanac” had to say; October's birth flower is the marigold. Marigolds are often given as a sign of warm or fierce, undying love, or as a way of saying that you're content with being with the recipient. The other October flower is Cosmo, a symbol of order, peace, and serenity.
Needless to sayÂ…here is my bouquet of Cosmos! Oh, my Blackberry Fairy is very shy and she is hiding behind the Cosmos!! TFL
