I am so excited to be a GD this month for the amazing Color Challenge Team! Thank you all for giving us this opportunity. When Mary said that Karen Barber had selected me I was floored. I mean Kar-ren Bar-ber! I remember not that long ago when I was afraid to even comment on her amazing creations. I am and always will be in awe of her talent, and of the talent of every one of the Color Challenge Hostesses.
About the card: I just arrived home from Florida - getting my mom settled for the rest of the winter in her condo. The wicker chair reminds me of her Florida room, and the hibiscus bush near her patio is still in bloom - I do wish I were still there, not in snow-covered NJ! I took a page from Karen's book and counted green as a neutral. ;) After sponging a back wall and doodling in some floor boards I framed the colored image - the intent to look like a Polaroid photo - using a square Nestie die. I was also inspired by Dina Kowal's tutorial for acrylic batik BG. I tweaked it a little by utilizing a stencil instead of a stamp with Versamark...a fun technique if you haven't tried it (and dessert this week!) I tried to mimic the pillow shape with the PC generated sentiment panel. PT - 4
Thanks Sallie, the CC Hostess Team and Dina for your inspiration. Thank you so much for looking and have a peaceful day.
