I gave DH a tablet for Christmas (having already bought a book I knew he'd love) and he felt that what he gave me was too small (though I was perfectly happy with it) and told me to get some more dies - so I had fun with a couple of them on this card, which I made for Michelle's WTUI challenge this week ~ LEt It Snow. Plenty of snow, but I've also included a promise for us all that Spring will come!!
For the background I stamped the snowflakes in Versamark and embossed with clear EP, then misted with water and smooshed Weathered Wood re-inker around.
I cut a piece of a book page to the same size, and tore the centre out to create a rough frame. I spritzed the two sides with the Perfect Pearls Blue Patina, and sponged the top with Peeled Paint. I stamped a little leaf stamp all over that in Forest Moss, and also added some diecut leaves spilling over the background. The bottom is Liquid AppliGlue with some silver glitter - my desk was such a mess already that I reckoned I might as well clear up the glitter along with everything else.
The birch trees are cut from the same book as the frame - a page stuck to an old cereal box and coated with gesso, then cut. The deer is just cut from a scrap of brown Bazzill. I edged all but the snowy part of the frame with a gold leafing pen.
