This card is for today's Featured Stamper - Ally (aka thecircleguru). Her gallery is filled with so many beautiful and artful creations - but my heart skipped a beat when I saw this one: { AllyÂ’s Beautiful Cardinal Peace & Joy Card }
I just kept coming back to that card - soooo, I CASED it!! I kept Ally's basic Cardinal theme but used only two layers with a different Cardinal and similar sentiment.
The SU! Bird image was stamped in a light color (Daffodil Delight) so all areas could be colored OVER (no black outlines, no black shadows from the stamp, etc.) The bird, leaves and berries were colored using Copics, then the image was fussy-cut, and mounted/popped over the die-cut pine leaves. The Sentiment was stamped on the oval die-cut, then everything was mounted over the base panel.

Wow Audrey this is so beautiful and elegant. I love that cardinal. It reminds me every year I do a cardnial card from my Brother-In-Law and his wife. I love the embossing in the background and the pretty twine that gives it an extra Christmas theme punch that is so eye catching.
