Denise's CAS challenge for today is to use "fabric" on our card. The reason for my title is that this silk fabric carries memories since it came from my late mother's stash of fabrics. When I was a teen, she could make any formal or dress for me from a picture that I found. When I was clearing out her home after her death, I thought this was such a beautiful "modern" fabric...it is so richly printed that there really isn't a wrong side. Poppies are the flowers that signify "remembrance", so I thought it was apropos to use this new Technique Tuesday image.
Denise, thank you for asking me to be the first Guest Designer for this fall season.

These poppies are beautiful atop the wonderful fabric, Sallie!! I love the title and think your memories are wonderful! Isn't it nice to take a walk back in time with something as simple as fabric!

What a gorgeous and chic card Sallie!! I think you should frame this piece and place it in your home somewhere. It is so nice to have wonderful memories about you mom and sewing. I love how you matched the poppies with the fabric. A really attractive card. Congrats on being the guest designer. You're awesome. Happy Labor Day!! :>)

These poppies look so beautiful with the striking fabric behind them. And your explanation really tugged at my heart, as my Mother, also was a wonderful seamstress and made so many of my sister's and my clothes, including formals.
