Those cakes are amazing works of art, but I have to confess that all that sweetness and sugar doesn't appeal to me to eat! DH and I both enjoyed looking at them - I couldn't come up with any ideas for his favourite, but this Painted Bas Relief looked perfect for a stamp that was on my desk from Thursday.
5" square base cut from watercolour paper, and scored along the the bottom above and below the ribbon.
Image is Stampendous Peony Square. I first stamped Linen in Vintage Photo, and then the peony image with Versafine Black. I used distress inks for colouring - Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Forest Moss, Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick - and then added some Liquid Pearls and gold Stickles.
I distressed the edges and layered it up on more watercolour paper with the edges distressed and sponged with dark blue and purple. It's fixed to the card base with foam dots. I added the grosgrain ribbon to try to incorporate that lovely rich blackberry colour from the cake.
