Hello! This card was made for today's Teapot Challenge...
It's a long story, and I'm going to try NOT to confuse you. You see...
Scrubby the Chubby is a fat cat. He has a butterfly friend named Butterfly Barney. Scrubby was constantly teased by the other neighborhood cats because of his weight. Barney and Scrubby made a deal that if Scrubby went on a DIET, (Hush your mouth! That's a swear word at MY house!), that Barney would loan Scrubby the use of his wings so that he could show those neighborhood bad cats that Scrubby was a pretty Cool Cat, like Speedy the Cat.
Well, Scrubby is now called Cheshire the Flyer because he went on that DIET! (Again, HUSH your mouth! There is a lady present!) However, there are no neighborhood cats around to witness Scrubby's flying feat! So, there was a call out to the teapotters to BRING along a Good Cat to witness the Cool Flying Cat. So, I grabbed up YumYum, our beautiful Siamese and she made herself right at home in my tea cup! Yes, I have giant tea cups. Don't you? I just can't get enough of Hot Tea. If you look closely, you can see Yummy asking her friend Barbara Butterfly to go and help Barney. Yummy's always ready to be the supervisor of any work being done. Kinda like me! We love to WATCH others work! LOL
I used 3 stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers for this card. YumYum is from More of Speedy the Cat's Friends. She was stamped in Noir onto Snow Storm Smooth and WHILE IT WAS WET, I colored in the fur with several Copics. (Since the ink was wet, I ended up picking up some of it while blending the colors for the fur. This cat REALLY looks like our Yummy with the fur blended like this! I wanted this same effect for the tea cup, so I repeated the ink/blending. (Tea cup from MFP's Floral Tea. Sentiment from MFP's Greet the Day With Gerber.)
I cut out both images. The Cat image is a walking cat. So, I taped it to the back of the cup and trimmed away the back end. Next, the paws were sticking out of the side of the cup, so I snipped them off and put one coming out of the top of the cup. I used a Black Memento Marker to fill in the edge of the image that had been cut.
Finished card size: 5 1/2" square
Total time to complete: 51 minutes...It took a LONG time to write this up!
