This is my card for todayÂ’s SC323 challenge. What a terrific sketch.
For this card I used a new set “African Velt” now available at Mark’s Finest Papers.
The cs is a dark rich brown and Ivory.
The 2 bg panels have been embossed with 1st layer CB Swiss Dots, 2nd layer Sizzix Geometric Circles.
I made a template for the sun with a punch and sponged on the colors using three shades of yellow.
I then added some streaks to represent the heat and at the bottom the dry earth.
I stamped the tree, running giraffes and sentiment in Palette Noir black.
The giraffe head was also stamped with PN black, colored with a small artist bruch, water and watercolor markers. The line cut and popped up for some added effect.
All supplies can be found at MarkÂ’s Finest Papers.

Nicole, this is truly a work of art!! That sun is spectacular, and I love how you mimiced the heat with the streaks of yellow in the sky! Great giraff head, and I love how you provided some ground for the 2 giraff to run on!!

I have loved seeing this giraffe popping up all over the gallery and he is terrific. Your card really captures the African serengeti with the cool silhouette. I love these images with today's sketch.
