I don't know about y'all, but as a kid, I loved my Barbie dolls. I was such a tomboy that Barbies were one of the only "girly" toys I liked. My sweet aunt Sandy used to make gorgeous, tiny little Barbie outfits for my sis & I every Christmas. I couldn't wait for Christmas just to see what she'd made for Barbie. I saved them all and put them away then I let my DD play with them when she was young. Later, she saw how much vintage Barbies were selling for and big $ signs cha-chinged in her eyes. Until I brought up the fact that ours would probably not fetch as much due to the Military haircuts she'd given them.
As for my card, I went with Tribute Barbie. I liked the winding flower flourish and the colors. All images are Our Daily Bread designs. On the blue bg, I stamped the butterfly bg image with blue ink and sponged on a couple of colors of blue ink. I used a white gel pen and a blue micron pen to add the highlight/shadow lines for a faux embossed look.
For the woodgrain bg, I stamped the image w/ choc and sponged on choc & sienna inks.
I stamped the butterfly vine twice w/ choc ink and colored them w/ markers & a water brush. I trimmed on a diagonal the right edge of one & cut out some extra butterflies from the other. The trellis was made by punching the lg garden trellis punch, back to back (to make it wide) and then I snipped out some of the internal crossbeams to make my trellis more open. The sentiment was die cut w/ a tag tie that I cut one end then turned the die around and cut the other side so they'd both match.
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

Julie, this is S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G. What a labor and so gorgeous. Love the butterfly bg and the fantastic wood and lattice that comes alive with all those wonderful dimensional butterflies.

Ha ha -- military hair My older brother convinced me to IRON my Barbie's hair since that was what all the girls in his class were doing! Yep - melted to the iron. I cried because we had to cut off the rest of her hair - and my brother got grounded for ruining the iron -- too funny!! LOVE your card - the butterflies all over the lattice are so pretty!
