I really feel like I'm in a stamping rut lately, and I wanted to do something totally different from my norm. My wish was to make a sparkly snowflake card for a coworker who LOVES anything with snowflakes. I'm not sure how I feel about my final outcome and would appreciate honest feedback.
Here are the steps I took to make this card:
My large snowflake was punched with the SU snowflake punch out of brushed silver cardstock. The smaller snowflakes were punched with a MS snowflake punch out of aluminum foil. I used Tombow glue to adhere all of the snowflakes to Basic Gray cardstock. I then ran this piece through my Cuttlebug with a houndstooth embossing folder to embed the snowflakes into the cardstock. I then got the bright idea (not) to cover the entire piece with spray adhesive and dazzling diamonds. While the concept looked good in my mind, it was too much of a thick coating of dazzling diamonds for my taste. I attempted to brush off the excess diamonds with a paint brush, which helped a bit. I then adhered these brilliant blue gemstones to the snowflakes. While this color was not in the inspiration piece I chose, I like how the artist incorporates bold color into a lot of her designs.
I finished off my card by stamping the "peace" sentiment and punching it out with the large SU star punch and outlining the edges with my brilliant blue marker. This is raised up on dimensionals.
Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!

Your co-worker will love this. If not, she's nuts! This looks complicated but you've given good instructions. I like the snowflakes out of foil and then running through the bug. All the DD looks fab. Really, really pretty Charlene.
How's Jess?
