I love making a scene and pink is fun too! I made THREE of these cards; one will be sent to UT MD Anderson Cancer Center please check out how you can help by clicking on their name.
And I promised two would be sent to the company that designed the images (DRS Designs) for the Operation Write Home program for our soldiers. Two very good causes and IÂ’m proud to help out!
Thanks Lydia for the fun pink holiday challenge.
-I created the scene by stamping the image on the cardstock panel and also on scarp paper. I tore the scrap paper between the fence wire lines and placed the lower half it on the cardstock image as a mask to cover the ground area. I sponged on the light pink, the darker pink then the navy and removed the mask.
-Next I cover the sky area with the opposite piece of torn paper. With yet another piece of torn paper I sponged on the light grey in the snow to create depth. ItÂ’s similar to creating a cloudy sky.
-The sentiment was stamped on last.
-The Faux brads are circles cut from a tag Cuttlebug die that I glue to the card then applied Art Glitter Adhesive to make it shiny – the perfect brad every time! I use the CB die because it rounds the edges like a real brad. These are very easy to pick up with a straight pin dipped in glue then touch the back of the circle and it’ll pick it up, now place it on the card by pressing down with the finger and pull the pin away – it will allow you to move if needed before the glue dries.
-For the envelope I stamped the image once, used a stamp positioner to line it up and stamped a second image. I love the way these images coordinate.
If you would like to see a better view of the envelope and the insert check out the direct link on my blog here.
I was invited By Invitation Only to design a card using DRS Designs images. I got to pick the images I wanted to use, they mailed them and I went to workÂ…how cool is that!

Roxie, I almost missed this. I'm so glad you are participating in the MD Anderson card drive as this card will make someone so happy. It's a breathtaking scene that I've put into my Favs in the hope I can CASE it. Gorgeous!!

Hi Roxie~
I think your sky is stunning...and I love the trees in the front with the greeting. I don't recall seeing a sunset or sunrise quite that pretty. This went in my favorite's also. I wanted to remember the order of the colors you used, no matter what color group! Thank you for showing, sharing with others, and teaching people like me!
