I made this for the Flourishes July Release Week Challenge, What's Cookin'? The challenge was to share your favorite recipe in a stamped creation. I may have taken this to the extreme by writing out my recipe for cherry pie (my hubby's favorite dessert creation) on a lined index card and cutting into tiles to use in the Card Patterns Sketch #72.
Today's color challenge was perfect for what I had in mind for this card. CC279, Wild Cherry Mist, is a challenge to use wild wasabi, cherry cobbler, and marina mist. I don't have any of these colors yet, but I was able to find reasonable matches in my collection of cheap Paper Company card stock.
I stamped these luscious cherries from the Flourishes Peaches and Cherries set and colored them with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS and a paper blending stump. Finished off the card with some fibers, buttons, and machine stitching.
Size of card: 5.5" square
It sorta feels to me like this card is missing something, but I just can't think of what to do to make it right. I like it well enough, but I'm trying hard to love it.

Oh, is that cute Emily!!! I love how you used a recipe in your quilt pattern. The cherries and the buttons are lovely. From what I can see, it looks like you've done a beautiful job on the inside as well. Great job!!

How smart you are - I love your layout with the parts of the recipe cut up and your stitching. What a great card and those colors are perfect. I want some cherry pie now - maybe I can talk my mom into making one.
