Hi! This card was made for 3 different challenges today: Color Combination Challenge: Suede, Amethyst, Apricot; Teapot Challenge: use a bird; Speedy's Friends Challenge: embossing.
These colors are not colors that I usually use. I found some Basic Grey colors that were close in Wisteria, and Wassail. I stamped the images in Adirondack's Pitch Black. I sponged in the heart, LIGHTLY, with Palette Ink's Nude. The images were colored in Memento Markers. I also used markers and sponges to sponge in the color on the bird.
The background purple was stamped with a flourish from Flourishes and Frame in Palette Burnt Umber. Next, the panel was run through a new Tim Holtz Sizzix Texture Folder. I added a stick pin with Sharovski Crystals and tied a charm on with cording.
For the story: This little birdie has to enter the birthday bash because he's a bit formal today...He had to attend to Markie's Blackberries before he could go to the party. And, ofcourse, Speedy the Cat wanted to chat, so he was LATE for the party. So, he is bringing this THANK YOU card to the HOSTESS, as he is thankful she saved a bit of tea for him!
Finished card size: 5" square
Total time to complete: 28 minutes

Those juicy blackberries against the creamy heart look so delectable - no wonder the hummingbird has made a beeline for them.
We always used to go on blackberry picking outings when we were little, to the reservoir. Bought berries these days just don't taste the same. Sigh...
