It's still Friday - and I'm uploading my QFTD card! Go me! (I still have one to finish from two weeks ago but that sort of speaks to how the last couple of weeks have gone.)
But here I am with today's card to celebrate the coronation of scrappigramma2 (aka Grace) as our eleventh Queen for the Day. Congrats Grace - such a wonderful gallery full of fantastic creativity. And always filling other people's galleries with thoughtful comments. Great choice for our newest QFTD!
I received this PSX stamped image from fellow SCSer "dlsplu" (aka Deb) - thanks so much! Coloured it with my watercolour crayons and aquapainter then versamarked the entire image and embossed with clear ep several times to attempt the cracked glass technique. Used a corner punch to mat the image. Used two sets of black rhinestones on the front and left the sentiment for the inside.
This also works for this month's Fan Club Central Theme. Now, it's no secret that I 'collect' punches, but, according to DH, I also 'collect' flowers. He figures I'm on a rescue mission any time we're near a store selling plants these days and informed me it is not my duty to 'rescue' every plant I see and bring it home with me. Thus, I feel this works for today's F4A14 challenge to make a card base on something you collect. Sadly, our current house doesn't have a great spot for me to plant tulips - I've had them in just about every other place we've lived. Might have to dig up some of the lawn... That'd get me big points around here...
Punch tally - 1 punch x 4 times on the outside. Same punch even more times on the inside.

Oh, this is so beautiful. You colored the flowers so nicely, and I've never done the cracked glass technique, but each time I see it I feel I am getting closer to trying. I really like how you used a corner punch to create a frame like that. You have taught me something new!

So beautifully done. I love that little piece of black behind your main focal point...it just makes the image pop. The tulip image is so impeccably color and shaded. This is so pretty and feminine. tfs

Ooooo, I have been MIA and you have some wonderful additions in your gallery! Lovely job colouring on this, and the cracked glass is such a neat texture. A mutual friend of ours would love the pink and black together. So pretty!

I too have this stamp and even bought it on e-bay for a friend, she liked it too. I've wanted to try this cracked glass technique and bought the thick glaze to try it but haven't done it yet--you've inspired me to want to try it. I need to make a masculine birthday card for my good friend's father for tomorrow, perhaps this will be what I create. I love the way you've colored those tulips, I haven't been successful when I've tried to color it myself lately, and I think you've done a terrific job on this card. Love how you've inverted the decorative corner punch, and how you haven't over embellished this card to take away the focus of the pot of tulips--it really pops in this configuration. I know that I've left a comment before, but looking at it again really inspired me, and I had to leave you this note too. Congratulations, great card, it's now in my favorites to check out again and again.
Best wishes to you, how I've appreciated your comments on my own cards!
