Whew! You would think I'd be in bed by now after all the sledding we did today. You know something about Oklahoma, it's FLAT! The only place there were hills to sled on is the off ramps next to the freeway exits. But everyone was doing it. Since the stores here dont carry snow things, we saw everything from air mattresses, man made ski sleds, and us having our boogie boards that we use for the beach. We are also getting lots of snow AGAIN next week, but hopefully no more ice. I wanted to play in the FS challenge so I stayed awake.
The Featured Stamper Nicole known as Butterflyears has such a wonderful gallery it was hard to chose which one to case. We were to change at least 3 things from her card to make our card. Here is the card I cased BE_TLC168_Angel at Prayers by ButterflyEars at Splitcoaststampers
When I saw this stamp at HL, I knew I wanted to make it into a stained glass card. I followed Beate's instructions in the Resources. The only thing I didn't have was the embossing buddy in the tutorial. (So, I looked online to see what I can substitute for it. It said to use Corn Starch with a sock). Then I patted the vellum with it to make the ink hold. I stamped this image with black ink onto vellum paper. Let dry. Then I used the clear emboss powder, heat set. I loved doing the next part. I flipped the image over and colored the image using the Bic Mark It markers and a white gel pen. Let dry. I attached the completed image onto vanilla c/s the same piece of vellum with a tiny strip of tacky tape. I added gold foil paper to the back and left 1/8 of an inch to fold back over the front (this hides the tacky tape inside the vellum). The corners were used as part of the WT191 challenge for using my corner rounder. I added a piece of sheer ribbon and gold cording from CTMH and tied. I used the CB Swirl folder then colored the swirls using the gold metallic pen. Then used clear embossing on all 3 pieces of the c/s. I used 2 star punches and hand written the sentiment with a Unibal Black pen. The image and the star is held on with pop dots. I really enjoyed making this card. Thanks for the challenge and dropping by. Have a wonderful Sunday,
What do you think?
Bonnie
Things I changed:
1. changed colors
2. added star with hand written sentiment
3. switched the layout of the ribbon
***My twin sister (stamp300) and I have a special request for my mother who is turning 85 years old on March 13. We would love for her to receive 85 birthday cards for her birthday. She would really enjoy receiving them and reading them. I miss her very much. We thought it would be a great idea to surprise her.
Thanks so much in advanced and here is her address:
