Julia asked us to find ways to be frugal for this week's Ways to Use It challenge. I love using trash in creative ways and as an extra challenge I decided to be extra frugal and only allow myself to use what was out on the desk in terms of stamps and ink!
Frugality:
- the circle is cut from a tomato paste tube, embossed with a CB folder and swiped with Stazon for a more aged effect (the metal is soft enough that regular scissors and Nesties will go through, no problem) - ETA: I didn't know tomato paste packaging was culturally-specific! In the UK, in generally comes in tubes which is frugal in itself, you just put the cap back on and save it for next time! I googled for you US dwellers and apparently Italian grocery stores often carry it or you can buy it on Amazon! {here}
- the popped up star is cut from chipboard pulled from a board-backed envelope used to mail a magazine
- the card base is one I'd folded and pierced for another project and then dropped an ink pad on (the ink blot is under the metal circle!)
The stamps and ink were out on my desk as I'd just made this month's cards for "the 25th Club" (make a couple of Christmas cards on the 25th each month rather than trying to do it all in November/December).
