It's the night owl here! I really didn't want this card to be an all nighter, but the cows gave me one heck of a time. Gees. This is for the Inspiration Challenge from the Hunkydoryhome shop. Here is my inspiration piece.http://www.hunkydoryhome.co.uk/hunky...-33_24_72.html. called Funky Cows from the Childrens Pictrues.
My older son was up for awhile because he is making a card as well. He noticed on the inspiration picture that it had a recessed window involved on the one I picked. I said, oh no! So, I gave it a shot anyhow. Here is the Recessed Challenge under the New Techniques for Monday Forums at Splitcoaststampers. I followed the directions as directed by GardenDiva listed in the gallery on how to make one. This card I made is a 5x7. The frame of this is chipboard (the back of a desk calender). Ok, now the story. I hand drew the shape of the grass and cut out a template. I traced it onto green and onto the blue. I used the window punch for the trunk of the tree. I also hand drew the tree. That was another issue. I couldn't get it the way I wanted it. The berries I made by taking 3 3D pop dots (Walmart) and attached them using 2 of the small circle punches. It's like making a sandwich, times 3. The whole tree is on there with foam tape. Ok, here is the tricky part with these cows. I tried a few different ways of coloring these cows. I ended up stamping them onto white c/s with black ink 6 times. I colored the black spots with a black caligraphy pen because it was just the right black. I also colored them using a light peach for the white areas. Once colored, I went back over them with clear emboss powder. I did this for 4 cows. They are double stacked using foam tape. I cut just 2 of the faces and heat emboss them as well. Cut out. They are on there using glue dots as well. You know how many times I accidently cut off the milk section or the legs on these cow? That is why this card took all night. Thanks for having such a fun challenge. TFL! Have a great weekend!
I think I better go to bed, its 5:49am. I also want to point out in the picture above the top cow, there is a smudge mark from my chip in my camera. Please look past that, thank you. I will adjust any typos in the real morning, sorry.
What do you think?
