This is for the ways to use it challenge today...use a white gel pen. 7 years ago I was sleeping in with my DH (then fiance) dreaming about enjoying a day together, as we had called in sick to work. He is a NYC police officer and I am a NYC Paramedic. God was watching us that day and for whatever reason I do not know, I am alive today and have a beautiful family to thank Him for. I will NEVER forget what I saw that day and I will never forget my dear friends who I lost. God Bless us all...

I cried when I read your story here, it brought everything flooding back about that day. We will always remember and honor the bravery of you all and keep you in our prayers. Thank you.

Beautiful tribute Denise. I was living in NY at the time of the attacks. We were about 3.5 hours away and the wind happened to be blowing in our direction. We could smell the jet fumes. I'll never forget that day either. I still cry when I get off at the Rector Street station, look straight ahead, and there's just this giant gap of the sky that's not supposed to be there. When we went for the 5th year tribute, there still weren't any trees or birds, and tarps were still on the sides of buildings that were also affected.
I am so glad that you are here and your family is okay. We are indeed blessed.
