I don't normally do the color challenges, but when I was these colors I just had to jump in! They are so Southwestern looking. Before leaving to the grocery store, I color washed two pieces of w/c paper, one bashful blue the other creamy caramel, so I'd have something to work on when I got home.
Got home, stamped the image on the blue paper, clear ep it. Colored part of the image. Oh yeah, put groceries away first! LOL Sponged and doodled edges. Cut out using oval nesties. Added the dew drops. Popped this up on the black.
The other day I went to print something and got a whole page of nothing but black. Didn't want to waste this, so I used it for layering on my card. Used nesties for the scalloped oval.
On some whisper white scraps, I used my homemade square stamp to make the diamond border. Sponged creamy caramel on the edges. Used my color washed creamy caramel paper to layer on. Sponged the edges.
Stamped the sentiment, sponged edges, popped up on blue that I sponged edges also. Glued on the flower adding a dew drop to the center.
Put this altogether and called it a card. TFL :0)

So pretty! What a creative way to make the colored paper using watercolor paper. Love your doodling around your image and the clear dewdrops for flowers!

Fabulous Cathy, just fabulous! I love all the techniques you used in between getting groceries and putting them away. Great minds can handle distractions! So glad you joined us today in the challenges. See, arent they fun? I saw Connie Jo's cards, too. They're great arent they? Must take after her much younger sister!

Beautiful card....again!! I laughed out loud when you got an all black piece of paper out of your printer and turned into a card. Your tired *older* sister has to go and take an asprin and a nap. TFS
