This week's Featured Stamper was Sparklegirl, and she has a FABULOUS gallery! Here is my card for the featured stamper challenge. I made this card for my friend Beth's birthday. I just got in my new MFT sets and I wanted to use the Ride'em Cowgirl. I cased this card of Silke's: CC162 Happy Harmony by sparklegirl at Splitcoaststampers.
I loved the layout that Silke used on this card and I loved the scallops, so I wanted to keep those the same. I also kept the jumbo eyelets and rhinestone brads. I also kept most of the colors the same. Silke's card was for last weeks color challenge (groovy guava, blush blossom, and basic gray), and I LOVED that color combo. I just changed the basic gray to close to cocoa.
Things I changed:
1. images and sentiment(I used MFT's Ride'em Cowgirl)
2. added bg on main panel- Boho Backgrounds and Sanded. I colored the flower bg with markers, stamped off and then stamped on the blush panel. I stamped the Sanded bg in close to cocoa ink over the flowers.
3. I added the brads under the main image panel.
4. I omitted the ribbon around the main image.
5. I used slightly pink rhinestone brads instead of clear.
6. My card measures 5-1/4" x 5-1/4", Silke's was 5" x 5".
I used natural twine to create the 3D lasso that the cowgirl is holding, it is adhered to the cs with Tombo Mono Multi Adhesive. The lady's arm is cut out and up on dimensionals. I used Julie Buhler's Watercoloring with Markers technique, here is a link to the tutorial: Watercoloring With Markers Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers.
Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
