Jami has challenged the Dirty Dozen to create a card using stamps, tools and embellishments that we got more than 6 months agoÂ…this was a lot of fun and encouraged me to really dig in my supplies for inspiration!
I did a major stamp clean-out about a month ago, but Lovely As A Tree was a set I wouldn’t part with – and it was perfect for this challenge as I don’t use it often - but always enjoy it when I do. I first stamped the trees with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and then embossed with clear EP – another technique I don’t use often. I sponged the edges with various shades of brown ink.
I pulled this hunk of pretty ribbon from my stash – just had to have it at least 2 years ago and it’s never seen daylight! It’s attached using a Making Memories brad, which I’ve also been hording for the longest time. This was a very cathartic process for me!
I stamped the *friend* image from Lexicon of Love (another oldie but goodie) to create a background on the Ruby Red panel – a color I could never get enough of when I first started stamping, but now a color I rarely reach for. Go figure! I tore this panel, which is also something I haven’t done in a long time.
The sentiment was created using Everyday Flexible Phrases – can you believe I didn’t know I had this set until I discovered it while looking for another…how pathetic!
Finished off with faux stitching and sponging – because I can’t make a card without it!
2 goofs on this one that I’m admitting to – the red smudge on the tree and the stitching on the right-hand panel. My mom’s a quilter and calls her goofs *humility squares;* so I guess this is my *humility card.*
Thanks for looking!

This is gorgeous!!! I do not see any imperfections at all!!! I love the subtle shading, the stitching...and the torn left corner revealing more trees!! And that ribbon!!! So beautiful!
