When I saw this idea in the Holiday Showcase, I was so excited! This is the perfect recycling project for me - I had the tins, I had tons of magnetic calendars and ads received through the mail, and I had Christmas 3x3s received in swaps that I thought would be perfect for the fronts.
This is what I did -
Using a paperpunch the same size as the tins, I punched a circle out of each 3x3, centering the design I wanted. In some cases, I cut around stamped designs or punched smaller circles and matted them on larger ones.
Attached the punched circles to the fronts of the tins with doublestick tape.
Added a few more embellishments like jingle bells on all the santa caps, a red button nose on Rudolph and highlighted most of the designs with glitter pen
Used the same large circle punch to punch out magnetic sheets and attached them to the backs of the tins with doublestick tape
Punched out the numbers from a glossy sheet of PC-printed numbers (a few are still missing...I need to print more)
It's a great space-saver to use my refrigerator for this calendar, so I won't make any kind of background, but it needs a banner of some sort.
