Created for challenge TLC146 - to make a gift card holder using paper piecing techiniques. I LOVE to paper piece, so after I read the challenge I went right to work! My Favorite Things stamps are great for paper piecing, the women are almost always dressed in a great piecing outfit. This stamp set is one of my favorites to piece because you get to match up at 3 papers for the 2 ladies.
I went through my scrap bag and found some orange and yellow scraps... I figued this was a nice cheerful color for a cold and icy day! I designed this to be the colors of a summer sunset and colored the background reflect that as well.
The main image is sewn on the card along both sides and bottom to form a pocket. The sewn envelope shown below the card will fit a credit card sized gift card and slips in behind the main image.
Thanks for looking and take a peek at my blog for more of my designs.
