This is a sneak peek for two of the new MFT releases available on November 1. (www.mftstamps.com) The sets are By the Seashore and Essential Sentiments. As you watch the sneak peeks appearing over the next couple of days make special note to see what the sentiments are stamped on. Kim had a very special plan for these sentiments and you are going to be thrilled.
I love the girl waling her dog on the shore. There are lots of wonderful embellishments images with this set as well. I love the hat and found it so fitting as I use sun screen all the time now that I am getting old. For my scene I stamped the bird sitting on the piling and then sketched a boardwalk around it with my artist pen and also created a window frame to pop up over main image of the girl and dog. I created the sand and water on the frame to match what is on the main layer so they would carry across continuously. I watercolor and sponged everything with reinkers and classic ink. I wanted the water and sky to almost blend in together so you could hardly tell where one stopped and the other started. I used liquid applique for sea foam and smooshed it around with my finger before heating to avoid the dreaded blobs. When I was totally through with both the frame and main image I touched everything lightly with my versa pad and put on iridescent ice ep to add some sparkle to the scene. The gingham was a perfect beach touch for me. Oh....All those darling little seashells along the bottom come with this set as well. I was a cutting fool...but it was worth the effect.
