I had fun making this darling and simple wedding shower invitation. The set is Shower Time by My Favorite Things and is due for release on September 1 at www.mftstamps.com.
I used my new favorite technique-paper piecing to create a coordinated dress and unbrella with some retired SU dp. I stamped the image on WW cardstock once and on two different pieces of dp. I hactually stamped and cut out three umbrellas for layering. I painted her skin tone in with watercolor brush and blush blossom reinker.I used dimensionals to apply two additional umbrella layers to create depth.
I wanted to create a wedding bouquet with the little flower stamps in the set. I used my SU markers and colored just the head of the flowers and stamped them closely together on WW cardstock to create a small bouquet. I then used an olive marker to color some of the leaves from each flower stamp and added a little bit of greenery to the bouquet. I sketched in a little bit more greenery with my marker and some longer stems for the bottom of the bouquet to appear tied with a ribbon. I made sure I had on my glasses and used my paper snips to cut around all the little green stems and flowers to create my bouquet so that I could pop it up on the invitation main layer.
I embossed the main layer of dp with my textile cuttlebug folder to add some texture and interest to the card. I used one of my new cb diecuts to create the little embellishment border.
I love how this turned out. The cutting around the flowers of the bouquet was well worth the effort.

HOLY COW! How stunning, and I thought the bouquet was a premade embellishment. Of course, all of your cards are stunning so I should have known this was a Kittie card!
