Okay, so did you ever start a project that just kept growing and growing, and you couldn’t stop until it declared itself finished? Well, this card is one of those! When I saw Trudee’s Dare to Get Dirty inspiration challenge this morning, I loved it ‘cuz I very recently redecorated our bathroom in a beach theme in the identical colors of the inspiration room. Well, I just had some ideas and one thing led to another. Hours later, I finally have this card, which I have decided to put in a small shadow box to go on a shelf in said bathroom.
I pulled out a couple of retired sets for this one. Also got to use some shells I picked up at Mike’s for $1—or was it $.50?? Cool Caribbean CS has shells stamped from Sparking Summer (can’t see much tho’), So Saffron stamped w/Canvas, White CS stamped with Beaut. Batik and then I added some blue, turquoise and gold with Prismacolors; masked the surfboard and colored in Prismacolors/gamsol, added two birds that I cut out from Along the Shore, drew and cut out the starfish sticking out of the sand. Tore the gold and navy at the bottom and then added Liquid Applique (LA) to simulate whitecaps. Added a row of gold fibers and then little shells. Added LA for clouds and waves(??) Put the gold brads to give the feel of a sun up there somewhere! Don’t know if was worth all the time, but here it is!
This one also qualifies for Leslie's out of the box challenge and, I think, for Jenn Balcer's cheerful colors challenge.
Thanks for looking!
