The thing I enjoy most about the Inspiration Challenge is the journey of creation ... sometimes it's very literal and there is no doubt what inspired the card ... other times it's a bit more wandering (like today) ... but there is no right or wrong ... the joy is in the journey.
I decided that the dimension of the candle holders' stripes and mosaic reminded me of a striped pocked, so I went in search of striped paper. Even though this Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl paper wasn't the same colors, I decided it had the same feel with the light and dark alternating colors.
I liked the look of the waxed twine with the paper, and when I wrapped it multiple times around the fold, it sort of had a mosaic effect with the light yellow peeking through the red. I also thought the paper that outlined the journaling tag that became my card also had a repeated mosaic effect. The photo turn is attached with a large brad that is layered with a punched circle and a red gem for a little jeweled bling to bring in the sparkle of the glass. No stamping on this one ... all paper elements are from the Dutch Girl paper kit.
